Ketamine Therapy in Berlin

I am now starting to offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as part of my Berlin practice. This approach combines ketamine infusion sessions with integration support, helping patients in treatment od depression, anxiety, and trauma.

What is Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy?

Ketamine is a medication that has been widely used for anaesthesia since it was first synthesised in 1960s. It has also been extensively studied and gained recognition as a valuable tool in mental health care. When combined with psychotherapy, ketamine can help access new perspectives, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, and process trauma.

How it works

  • All ketamine sessions last about 2,5 to 3h, and are conducted in a medical practice, in partnership with an experienced doctor who prescribes and administers the medicine, and is present on site to monitor the session and ensure safety. The doctor will also conduct medical screening prior to starting the treatment.
  • I will help you prepare, stay with you throughout the medicine session, and afterwards help you to integrate the experience.
  • In between and after the ketamine sessions, we will meet at my Berlin Friedrichshain practice or online for integration sessions, where we will work to make sense of your experiences and translate them into lasting change.
  • The treatment usually consists of a series of 6 ketamine sessions, once or twice per week, plus integration sessions. I offer the possibility of continuing ongoing therapy afterwards.

Who might benefit

Ketamine Therapy has been shown to be helpful in treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and substance use disorders, among others.
